What to expect

Uncommon Nights happen weekly on Sundays at 5PM in the heart of Downtown St. Pete. It’s not your typical church service-and that’s kind of the point.

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. You’ll find us in the basement of the historic Kress Building at:

    475 Central Avenue
    Saint Petersburg, FL 33701

Once you step inside, take the elevator down to the basement floor. From there, you’ll walk through a long, winding hallway. It’s a bit raw and unpolished—no signs, no flash—and honestly, we love that. You wouldn’t know a community of faith gathers at the end of that hall. But we do. And it’s beautiful.

Look for our signs to guide you the rest of the way. We’ve made the path feel like part of the journey—because it is.

  • Parking is FYOS (Find Your Own Space). We know downtown parking can be tricky, but we’re confident there’s a spot waiting for you nearby. Most spaces are paid through the ParkMobile App.

Don’t want to deal with parking at all? Try the Downtown Looper—a free circulator bus that loops the core of the city. We’re stop #6.

  • We’d love to hear from you.

Reach out anytime at hello@uncommon.city or text us at (727) 222-3138.

  • We meet in an artist’s studio tucked deep in the Kress Building’s basement. The room is dim and textured—part gallery, part sacred space. You’ll see finished and unfinished works scattered throughout, paint-splattered floors, brushes in jars. It’s not polished, and that’s the point. It’s alive.

The room forms a U-shape around a central bar counter where we place food, drinks, and gather before and after. Seating is eclectic—couches, stools, chairs—find whatever feels like home and make yourself comfortable.

We set aside a corner for our kids. There’s a soft mat for our crawlers and a few books and toys for toddlers. It’s not childcare—it’s community. We love when kids participate in the full rhythm of the night alongside us.

  • No two Sundays are exactly the same, but most weeks include:

    • A shared meal and communion

    • A short teaching and guided discussion

    • Worship and prayer

    • Time to just be—with God, and each other

We usually gather for 1.5 to 2 hours, but we’re not in a rush. Come as you are. Bring a notepad and something to write with. Dress comfortably—our space can run a little warm, and we’re not trying to impress anyone.

  • If you decide to stick around (and we hope you do), there are a few ways to stay in the loop:

    • Sign up for The Field Guide — our weekly email with gatherings, practices, and what’s ahead.

    • Ask someone about our rhythm of community life and how to get involved.

    • Or just keep showing up. That’s enough.
