Practice Generosity
Giving Tuesday with Uncommon City
In a world that trains our hands to grab, Jesus keeps inviting us to open them.
Practice Generosity is our way of joining that invitation in a focused, practical way.
This Giving Tuesday, we are inviting our community to practice generosity in two very concrete ways so that neighbors in St Pete can find belonging at the table and on the block.
We talk a lot about the good, beautiful, and true way of Jesus. Generosity is one of the most concrete ways that way becomes real. Money, time, presence, open doors, extra chairs at the table.
Giving Tuesday gives us a moment on the calendar when the whole world is leaning toward generosity. We are using that moment to invite our people to join a deeper story in St Pete. Practice Generosity is that story.
What is Practice Generosity
Invest in our Coffee House Project
Uncommon City is not putting our energy into a church building. We are putting it into placemaking on the Southside.
A Thirdspace for the Southside
Ora will be a third space where:
People from the Southside can gather, study, breathe, and belong
Jobs are created at a living wage
Artists, entrepreneurs, and families share the same room
Conversations about justice, faith, and neighbor love rise as naturally as steam from a mug
To bring this to life, we are seeking to raise $350K in capital.
On Giving Tuesday, your gift can be designated specifically toward that goal.
You can help us take real steps toward build out, equipment, and the quiet miracle of a justice centered coffee shop planted right in the neighborhood.
How Your Gift Practices Generosity
You are not just giving to an organization. You are helping set a table for someone who needs it.
Our Hope For This Giving Tuesday
This year, Practice Generosity is not about hitting a flashy number.
It is about many of us taking a step together.
Our hope is to see:
A wave of one-time gifts that carry Sunday Dinner and Sabbath Tables for the year
A strong first step toward the three hundred fifty thousand dollars we need to bring the coffeeshop to life
A little from many people can fund tables.
A few larger gifts can unlock the future of a coffee shop made for neighbors.
Both matter.
Both are holy.
